This Friday a humpback whale of more than 15 meters long on Las Flores beach , in El Salvador. According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), the animal was found on the shore at noon.
Shortly after the arrival of MARN officials at the site, they confirmed that it was a humpback whale (Megaplera Noraengliae) adult of 15. 70 meters long . So far, the reason for the death of the cetacean on the coast is unknown.
The source indicated that elements of the Armed Forces, Civil Protection and personnel from The Maritime Port Authority have established a security perimeter and that they will work in an articulated manner to proceed to bury the cetacean to prevent a source of contamination .
It is not the first time that a whale It appears dead on a Salvadoran beach, the last time was in March and it was also a humpback, but this specimen was found in the El Saite region.
On that occasion, the cetacean had been sighted days before floating in the water before finally running aground in the sand .
In similar cases, it is always chosen to bury the animal to avoid contamination, which can be harmful to health if left in the open.
