The first days of the penultimate month of this 2021 arrived with those that have been temperatures lower than the seasonal average between 5 and 15 degrees , freezing weather for at least 15 states already about 60 millions of people living in them.
“ Unusually cold weather will persist across the south-central and eastern US due to high pressure in these regions that continues to attract cold air ”, indicates the National Weather Service (NWS) .
The return of the cold to the country occurs seven months after similar temperatures were not experienced, and affects the entire eastern United States .
On Thursday, freeze warnings and freezing temperatures affected the area that goes d is from the state of New Mexico to the New England region, passing through cities in the center-east . Thus, some 50 millions of people took hats and coats out of the closet.
New York experienced the coldest morning since April, with 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the center and east of the country, on Wednesday millions of people had a frosty morning which caused some light snowfalls.
The cold will continue this weekend , according to the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center, but a slight rise will be felt at the beginning of the next one thanks, in part, to the warm air expected to come from West. However, Ohio, Tennessee and the East Coast have the prospect of another blast of cold air in about 10 days.
In Texas and the Carolinas a weekend with temperatures between 40 to 60 degrees, several below normal. Over the Middle Mississippi Valley and Mid-Atlantic there are frost warnings.
