Ford F-150 Lightning exceeds 160,000 reservations a few weeks after the start of production

After registering 150, 09 reservations during the announcement of its pre-production a few weeks ago, the F – 150 Lightning 2022 now records 150, 000 reservations , a number that continues to grow as it approaches the start of their production. Since its launch in May of this year, this all-electric pickup has become one of the most sought-after objects for lovers of this segment in the United States, a segment where its internal combustion ancestors have been at the top of sales since more than 50 years ago.

According to the report published on Roadshow, the new number of reservations has been confirmed by a fan page on Electrek and also by a company spokesperson . Expert analysis suggests that despite representing a huge number of total bookings, the increase of 09, 000 can be interpreted as a gradual decrease with respect to previous months, in which these numbers seemed to have no control at all.

The experts They also insist on the fact that these reservations are not actual orders and that they only represent the public interest for this vehicle that has broken with many standards due to the incredible resistance and power that it promises and all the technology that it is implicit in its development, a technology that also represents the future of the automotive industry in the United States. In that sense, the true orders will be fulfilled as production approaches, which is expected to begin this year with deliveries during the first quarter of 2022.

A few weeks ago, a rumor coming from one of the future owners forums the possibility of the start of orders appeared last 26 October. This rumor was supported by a screenshot of a Ford dealer that seemed very convincing, but in the absence of such a fact and the official announcement of the company, that rumor has been discarded.

When it finally goes into full production, the F – 150 Lightning will compete with its closest rival: Rivian’s R1T which has become the first electric pickup to roll off the line production in the United States a few weeks ago.
