New York attorney general is running for state governor

NEW YORK – The Attorney General of New York Letitia James announced this Friday that she aspires to be Governor , thus ending the long-awaited announcement of this prosecutorial media that has become known for its battles against the National Rifle Association or its investigations against the resigned governor Andrew Cuomo .

The announcement in a video about his candidacy, in which he talks about his battles as a prosecutor, which include the lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies over the opioid crisis and in 76 occasions against the Administration of President Donald Trump , is accompanied by images of various moments of his career in the prosecution.
“I have sued the Trump Administration 76 times, but who counts? ”, says Letitia James in the video, which also highlights the research that conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office on deaths in nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic.
Today’s announcement places James, from 62 years old, former councilman and former defender of the people, in a race in which she will face the governor in the Democratic primaries Kathy Hochul , from 63, who took office last August after Cuomo resigned after the prosecution’s investigation into allegations of sexual harassment, as well as other candidates.
