Chaos at LAX: 300 people evacuated in security incident, detained

A security incident in the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) caused a complete ground stop of all flights Thursday night, forcing hundreds of travelers.
According to LAX, a report was received around 7: 30 pm about a person with a firearm in Terminal 1.

The arrests occurred after police responded to reports of a person with a firearm Thursday night, forcing hundreds of travelers to evacuate.
The airport reported the arrest of one person and said that no shots were fired or weapons were recovered. Approximately 300 passengers were evacuated from the terminal to the aircraft runways. LAX said that while leaving, two people sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A third person was sent to the hospital.
Videos shared on Twitter show passengers lined up along a nearby wall of aircraft taxiways.
From Thursday at 8: 30 pm, the south side of the airfield was open to flights , but the north side remained closed.
LAX informed passengers that they self-evacuated from Terminal 1 before They can claim their belongings in the baggage claim area inside the lower level of Terminal 1.
Travelers were asked to verify the status of your flight and keep an eye out for police activity, which continues, while authorities investigate the incident.
