They investigate a shooting at a Georgia university that caused 1 death and 7 injuries

A mass shooting that occurred in the early hours of Saturday left one person dead and seven other injuries in Fort Valley, Georgia , the state Bureau of Investigation said Saturday.
The incident occurred at an off-campus party near Fort Valley State University, authorities said.
“Our thoughts are with the students and their families as they recover,” the university said in a statement Saturday.
The person who died in the shooting was not a Fort Valley State University student, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said early Saturday morning. But the school said several students were among those injured. The seven victims are all in stable condition, according to the bureau.
The authorities investigate the motives of the shooting and have explained that the wounded are not in a serious situation and that they were transferred to nearby medical centers.
Local media reported that Peach County Coroner, Kerry Rooks , identified the murdered person as Tyler French, from 27 years, Byron. According to Rooks, French died around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities They have not identified the suspects in the shooting and are asking for help with anonymous clues to locate them.
The educational center announced the cancellation of several of the planned activities over the weekend.
Fort Valley, with about 2, 300 students, is a historical African-American university founded in 1895 and is located about 100 miles south of Atlanta.
