The publication of a new batch of official files, which are related to the assassination of the president John F. Kennedy (1961 – 1963), was delayed “temporarily” due to an order from the President Joe Biden .

Biden justified this measure due to the “impact of the pandemic” in the work of reviewing the documents.

The president affirmed that the pandemic “had had a significant impact” on the agencies responsible for verifying the documents, for which he ordered a “continued temporary postponement.”

“The archivist stressed that making these decisions is a matter that requires a professional, academic and orderly process, nondisclosures made in a hurry, ‘”said Bide n in a statement .

This new group of documents was scheduled to be revealed next week, but now they will be released in two parts: the first at the end of this year, and the second at the end of 2022.

“The profound national tragedy of the assassination of President Kennedy continues to resonate in American history. ”For which he considered“ essential to ensure that the US government complies with the greatest transparency (…) except when the strongest possible reasons advise otherwise, ”Biden said.
