Los Angeles Metro expands bike-sharing program with 12 stations in Hollywood

With 12 Additional docking stations in Hollywood, Metro de Los Angeles expanded the Shared Bicycle Program , known as Metro Bike Share.

Residents and tourists will be able to use electric bikes and classic bikes for $ 1. 75 dollars per 30 minutes or $ 5 for unlimited rides up to 25 minutes each during 24 hours, with a charge of $ 1. 75 dollars for each 30 additional minutes.

The locations of the new stations were determined after consultation with the community and can be found at:

Yucca Street and Argyle Avenue

McCadden Place and Santa Monica Boulevard

“This Expansion of Metro’s Bike Share Program to Hollywood will make it easier for Angelenos and visitors to reach popular destinations by bike and get on and off Metro’s B (Red) Line, ”said the President of the Metro Board of Directors and President of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Hilda Solís.

City officials hope that this expansion in Hollywood will facilitate the connection for users with other bike-sharing stations in East Hollyood, Los Feliz and Silver Lake .

“The Metro Bike Share Program is one of our key initiatives to improve first and last mile access to and from our transit stations. The combination of transit and bike sharing can help everyone better access local destinations and help reduce car travel in our county, ”said Metro Executive Director Stephanie Wiggins.

Metro secured a $ 1.5 million dollar sponsorship from DoorDash for one year and compensates the cost of the program thanks to the funds raised by the advertisements.
