On 16 passed away at 84 years old film director Felipe Cazals , considered one of the most important directors of Mexican cinema; So far the reasons for his death have not been released.
Born in 1937, Cazals studied filmmaking in France, and on his return to Mexico he began working on independent court, receiving the opportunity from Antonio Aguilar to direct it in the blockbuster “Emiliano Zapata” by 1971. Years later he would obtain fame for three films that would become classics: “Canoa” (1975), “El apando” (based on the novel by José Revueltas , 1976) and “Las poquianchis” (1977), in which he handled high doses of violence with a social background.
In 1994 Cazals announced his retirement from the film industry, but returned six years then with the film “Your Serene Highness”, of a historical nature. His later films were already moving away from the style that elevated him in the 70, the last being “Ciudadano Buelna” , starring Sebastián Zurita .
