Customers sue Chick-fil-A for secretly raising prices on delivery products

Chick-fil-A is being sued for the second time by customers who accuse the chain is secretly charging more expensive food for delivery service; the increase is independent of the shipping service fee.

The first lawsuit was filed in a California court in March and was moved to a federal court on May 7. The lawsuit accuses Chick-fil-A of falsely advertising the shipping fee as $ 3. 99, when in fact it is much higher because the costs of the food delivered increase by a 25 and a 30 percent , according to Legal Newsline.

In a second lawsuit filed by two clients against Chick-fil-A , now in New York, it is noted that the restaurant charges people more for items ordered for delivery despite promising low rates.

Chick-fil-A has promised its customers low-priced deliveries on its mobile app and on its website, usually in the amount of $ 2. 99 or $ 3. 99. But these claims would be false.

According to the second lawsuit document shared by Food & Wine, “Chick-fil-A secretly raises food prices for delivery orders between a 25 and a 30 percent. The identical order of chicken nuggets of 30 costs approximately $ 5 to $ 6 more when ordered for delivery than when ordered through the same mobile app for pickup or when ordering from the store. ”

It is common for items delivered to cost more, but the lawsuit notes that Chick-fil-A did not disclose prices more high.

Mashed’s team verified the extra charge exposed by the plaintiffs. They ordered a spicy chicken sandwich through the Chick website -fil-A for collection and another for delivery service. They paid $ 5. 79 for the spicy chicken sandwich picked up at the restaurant , while $ 7 was paid for the sandwich at home, 49, plus the shipping fee . A margin of 29% more for the product.

In the second application it is concluded that the secret extra margin on delivery items is essentially a “hidden delivery fee” that “tricks consumers into making online food purchases that they would not otherwise make” as Chick-fil-A.

Chick-fil-A is considered the highest rated fast food restaurant in the United States, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). We would have to wait to know if the current demands affect the evaluation that customers make of the chain.
