Video caught the moment that a suspect is shot by five Houston police officers after running over an officer

HOUSTON – A video that was recently released by the Houston Police of the incident where an officer was run over by a suspect trying to escape in a stolen vehicle, shows the moment that cops shoot and kill the man.

In the images you can see all the chaos that occurred last month after an officer from the County Precinct 1 Police Department Harris asked for support during the pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was heading in the opposite direction on Hardy Highway during the chase of approximately 20 minutes.

The suspect crashed in front of a residence located on Mitchell Street.

One of the patrols stopped behind the stolen vehicle to prevent it from leaving, but the suspect reversed it and ended up completely colliding with the house.

After the officer was dragged away the other police officers began shooting at the suspect. In total, five officers unloaded their weapons.

One of the officers was wounded by a bullet that ricocheted during the shooting. In the video you can see the moment that the officer who was shot in the leg falls to the ground and yells asking who was shooting him, asking them to stop shooting.

The officer run over survived and the officer wounded by a bullet was also treated and released from a hospital.

The suspect who died at the scene was identified as Omar Hernández.
