Woman Seriously Injured by Shots Fired by School Security Officer at Long Beach High School

A woman was seriously injured by the shots fired by a school security officer on Monday afternoon near Millikan High School , in Long Beach.
The Long Beach Unified School District reported that, approximately at 3: 15 pm, one of its officers went to the high school to investigate an altercation that had occurred between several people , at the intersection of Spring Street and Palo Verde Avenue.
In a video, displayed by the chain ABC7 , the officer can be observed when approaching a silver car, and when the driver accelerates, the security element fired at the vehicle .
This video is evidence of the investigation carried out by the Long Beach police.
The reasons for the shooting by the school security officer are unknown.
In the shooting, a woman was injured and had to be transferred in critical condition to a local hospital.
School authorities reported that no student at Millikan High School was injured by the shooting , and indicated that this Tuesday there would be additional staff to provide support to students.
Incident is under investigation by Long Beach Police.
