Safety

It is increasingly common for central banks to use greater security measures and the case of Banco de México is no exception.

The ticket of 20 Mexican pesos has a format mixed, because its front is horizontal and its back is vertical, a characteristic that other countries such as Canada or Venezuela have already adopted.

According to Alejandro Díaz de León , Governor of the Bank of Mexico, the new banknote has reinforced security measures that make it difficult to forge , and at the same time, it can be authenticated by users including blind and partially sighted people .

The banknote is touch sensitive , has a color-changing design , a transparent window, linear backgrounds and fluorescence .

The obverse presents a work of the entrance of the Army of the Three Guarantees to Mexico City on 27 September 1821 and which is part of the collection of the National Museum of History of Castle chapultepec.

The design of the reverse corresponds to the mangrove ecosystem with its representative fauna and flora of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve in the state of Quintana Roo, which is a natural heritage of humanity.
