Together Again: Dodgers mourning the death of Jo Lasorda, widow of the legendary manager

Mourning has come once again to the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise , that eight and a half months after losing the legendary Tommy Lasorda announced the death of his widow.

Jo Lasorda passed away the Monday night at his home in Fullerton, California. He was 91 years old.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Jo met Tom Lasorda when he was with the minor league team there. Eventually got married on 14 April 1950 and were married for 70 years. The Lasorda are survived by their daughter Laura and granddaughter Emily.

Tom Lasorda, one of the most iconic Dodgers in history, died on January 7 at the age of 93 years . His legacy in baseball is enormous, not only because of his sporting achievements, but also because of an incomparable charisma that allowed him to be an international ambassador for baseball.

With the organization of the Dodgers , Tommy Lasorda was a player, scout, minor league manager and obviously team driver, a position he held as 1976 to 1996 with 1, World .

In this year 2021, the Dodgers also mourned the deaths of Sandy Scully, wife of the legendary chronicler Vin Scully; Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton and even Larry King, the TV host who was a die-hard fan of the Dodgers.

The Dodgers wear two black patches on their uniform throughout this season : one to honor Lasorda and one to remember Sutton.
