A woman from 74 year old rescued his pet from the jaws of an alligator on Monday in the lake near Burt Aaronson Park in Florida. The lady fell into the water without thinking to save Nalu and both were moderately injured after the attack.

Suzan Marciano was walking around the lake in Florida and decided to release Nalu from his chain so that he could run freely. Then, the animal went into the lake to cool off while its owner watched her sitting on the shore, she told The Palm Beach Post .

When the gator released Nalu , Suzan Marciano figured she had spooked it. Then the gator turned and sunk its teeth into her hand.

The quiet moment at the lake ended when Marciano observed a large black shadow approaching Nalu. Quickly she approached her pet and there she detailed a alligator

about two meters long that immediately opened its jaw and caught the dog.

The Floridian did not hesitate and pounced on the alligator to free Nalu in an intense fight that lasted almost a minute. When he managed to free his pet, the alligator wounded the septuagenarian in one hand, which made her bleed profusely, but she did not care at the time.

Marciano left the lake with Nalu in his arms and quickly drove to a nearby hospital to heal his hand, the which received five stitches.

After healing her wounds, the woman took her pet to a nearby veterinary center where they diagnosed Nalu, with deep wounds to her stomach and right thigh, was admitted to an emergency surgery that lasted two hours. Later, he went home with his owner and with some stitches on his body.

Despite healing their physical injuries, both suffered from sequelae after the incident. She said that she burst into tears for no apparent reason and Nalu was much calmer than usual.

Marciano reported the event to the Conservation Commission of Florida Fish and Wildlife Service (FWC), but no alligator was found in the lake.
