Border agents rescued two brothers, two months and three years old, abandoned in the Rio Grande

Border Patrol Agents (USBP, for its acronym in English) found two brothers, aged three years and two months, on Tuesday respectively , abandoned in Rio Grande, sow of Eagle Pass, Texas. The authorities determined that the minors are from Honduras, according to the Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) in a statement .

According to CBP, officers were patrolling the bank of a river at noon and noticed a unusual color among the bushes. When the officers approached the scene, discovered the two children , who were quickly rescued from the scene.

The youngest was inside his baby carrier and the oldest was sitting next to him. The officers did not find any adults in the vicinity .

Children did not require medical attention and were transferred to the Uvalde station to be processed .

In recent months several minors have been found alone at the border. Last April two brothers of five and six years were left by human traffickers in a rocky area of ​​the border between California and Mexico.

A week before that incident, CBP released a video that recorded a man dropping two girls of Ecuadorian origin, three and five years old, from the top of the border wall , which measures 4.2 meters in an area of ​​New Mexico.

Until this Monday 13, the CBP had in its custody 587 unaccompanied minors , according to data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
