Orbelín Pineda was the hero of Mexico at the National Stadium, before Costa Rica. With a excellent penalty charge he gave El Tri the advantage, a goal that would ultimately give him all three points to the Mexican team (0-1). And it was not just any penalty, Orbelín had personality to face Keylor Navas and “dance it”.
For reasons of fate, Pineda was not a starter , but entered the minute 41 ′ as a result of the ankle injury suffered by Alexis Vega . Four minutes later he received his great opportunity in the match and did not let it go.
Bryan Oviedo knocked down Andrés Guarded in the area. The Costa Rican arrived late to the crash and kicked Guarded. It was a clear penalty.

Then, it was Pineda’s turn. The Cruz Azul player was given the responsibility of putting Mexico ahead. In front of him he had Keylor Navas, one of the best archers in the world.
But for Pineda it was like having an empty bow. He trotted to the penalty spot and when kicking he hit him with the outside of his foot, deceiving a delivered “Falcon” Tico that dived to the opposite side.
After celebrating with his companions, Orbelín danced in front of the Navas arch , with quite aesthetic movements that border on the provocative. This is how Mexico took advantage.
