A screenshot of an email shared on September 1 shows a message from an unnamed teacher advising to wear a mask at school after school positive cases from the group of teachers were confirmed. The information was shared on the Open Comal Schools Safely Facebook wall dedicated to updating parents on developments in the district’s schools.
Kinder Ranch Elementary is located near the intersection US- 281 and Bulverde.
The Comal district does not require the use of masks among students and staff.
The news medium Canyon Lake also interviewed a parent of an elementary school student who volunteers at the school, who assured that parents of students have had to acquire information from each other why district officials have not communicated anything to them about the situation.
All information regarding positive cases has been shared by a parent of a kindergarten student, and not by the district.

District officials report a daily count of active cases of each school, but it should be noted that the figures are based on the cases reported by parents and staff.
