According to data from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) until 20 August existed 10. 1 million raw taxpayer tax returns .

What is causing the tax refund delays?
In a normal season the IRS sends refunds within three weeks after a taxpayer files their tax return.

As if this were not enough, a large number of the declarations have to be read by hand , which causes the documents to be reviewed at a slower speed.

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (ACTC) are included. This latest support is being sent to 90% of US households .
