ICE facilitates an appointment registration system for immigrants who must report to their offices

For those immigrants who must attend regular appointments at the Immigration and Customs Control office ( ICE ), the agency unveiled a new online system that is compatible with cell phones, which will help prevent people from carrying out the procedure in offices or calling by phone.

This tool will allow non-citizens to schedule their registration appointments, required at the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) offices, while they await immigration procedures “, reported the agency. “Previously, appointments had to be made by phone or in person.”

Immigrants can enter in the following link: www.ice.gov/check-in . It is a bilingual appointment programmer , in English and Spanish .

“The ICE Appointment Scheduler is a crucial innovation that will make it easier for non-citizens to sign up… as needed, and allow ICE to more efficiently process these individuals while they wait for immigration procedures , ”said the agency’s acting director, Tae Johnson.

Added non-citizens should take into consideration the information found in their form I – 385 .

The agency stressed that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to implement the expulsion policy at the border under Title 20, established in the face of the emergency due to the COVID pandemic – 19.

However, people who cannot be returned to their countries under that rule will be integrated into the s ICE registration system.

“They are transported to an ICE facility or enrolled in the Alternatives to Detention program … to ensure compliance with verification requirements”, specified.

The agency alerts immigrants under open processes go to their appointments , both in the ICE offices and in the immigration courts, otherwise they could be put on automatic in deportation proceedings.

Since the evaluations of immigration agents can change with each appointment, it is important that non-citizens seek the advice of a lawyer, to avoid complications.

It should be noted that the ICE Victim Participation and Services Line (VESL) service is also maintained at ( 833) – 383 – 146 .
