Second stimulus check in California: Most payments will be issued starting Wednesday, September 1

Most payments of $ 600 dollars from the second California state stimulus check are scheduled to be distributed beginning in this September 1.

The past 28 August Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the first round of checks would be sent starting this week. The California Tax Franchise Board (CTFB) confirmed that most stimulus payments through a bank deposit would be issued between September 1, 2021 and the 15 October 2021 .

Those taxpayers who received their tax refund through direct deposit, will also see the arrival of the check to that same bank account.

If you filed your taxes after 20 of August, you must wait a period of up to 45 days.

In case of receiving the stimulus check through a paper check, the distribution time will depend on your zip code.

The CTFB has informed that if you have declared your taxes after the expected payment date in your zip code, you will have to wait until 60 days to receive payment .

What should I do to receive the stimulus check?

The only action you must take is to file a complete tax return for the 2020 in order to get your aid payment. If you have submitted it, you will not have to do anything else.

According to a survey conducted by Covered California , close to 62% of citizens have mentioned that they or someone in their household has lost their job or had their income reduced in the last year.

While Kids Data , a children’s advocacy organization, reported that the 43% of California caregivers said their economic situation had worsened during the COVID pandemic – 20 . Also about a third of caregivers said that were unemployed, had quit their job or reduced their employment .

The survey also asked families if they had occupied for the first time any social security resource such as food banks and public health insurance. The results showed that the 11% of respondents used these services for the first time during the months March and November 2020.
