Brazilian defender Matheus Dória will be naturalized to play for the Mexico National Team

The Brazilian Matheus Dória , defender of Santos Laguna of Mexican soccer, said this Tuesday that he has already started his Mexican naturalization process because his goal is to play with the Mexico National Team.

“I have goals in my career and one of the main ones is to fight for a position in the Mexican team after my naturalization letter comes out, I’m going to fight for that”, confessed the captain of Santos.

Dória, of 26 years, arrived in Mexico in the Apertura 2018 and began his career with Botafogo of the Brazilian league, a team with which he played the Copa Libertadores de América.

The central defender acknowledged that since he arrived in Torreón, the team’s headquarters, located almost a thousand kilometers north of Mexico City, he felt at home.

“I feel very happy inside and outside the club. Within the team they have done everything so that I feel like another Mexican, that’s why I have it in my head to stay here longer, I even renewed with Santos for four more years, “he boasted.

Matheus Dória stressed that, after his naturalization, if he gets an opportunity to play with the national team there will be a benefit for both parties.

“If I get called up, it will be very good because Mexico is going to win because of the competition that is going to be generated, but for that I have to work hard in Santos. I know that the papers take time, while I am going to maintain my level very high to be able to play for Mexico. ”
