WASHINGTON – The United States government said Friday that has no information on American civilians killed in Thursday’s bombing at the airport in Kabul, in which dozens of people died, including 13 US soldiers .
At a press conference, State Department spokesman Ned Price explained that so far he has not received data on U.S. civilians who lost their lives in the attack. In addition, all US diplomats remain at the airport, he said.
“We have no information that any American, already were citizens private or under the authority of our head of mission were killed or injured or damaged during the attacks, “said the spokesman.
USA intends to complete the evacuation and withdrawal from the Central Asian country by 31 August , despite the attack on Thursday, which was claimed by the terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS) .
The attack was the deadliest suffered by US troops in Afghanistan since 2011 and the first since February 2020.
The numbers of victims of the airport attack rose this Friday to 170 deceased and 150 wounded, indicated in Kabul sources close to the Taliban, while the Pentagon has reported the death of 13 US soldiers and of 18 military wounded.
