The symptoms of a lack of gasoline are obvious and can be confused with many, many faults , from car battery problems to more complex breakdowns, as some faults in the injection system . These symptoms usually indicate that the car will be stranded very soon and it will be enough to look at the gas meter on the dash to know what it is. But beyond the car turning off, experts mention how dangerous it is for the engine to operate with low levels in the gas tank. Therefore, it is very important to learn to recognize these symptoms in order to take action in time before it is too late. According to Puro Motores, some of the signs that the car is running out of gas are the following :

1. The fuel light, arranged between the dash lights, is the most evident. When we have not noticed the level of the gas tank on the marker, it is very likely that a corresponding light will come on on the dashboard to indicate that the level has reached a critical point. This light indicates that the tank is working with its gasoline reserve and that there are a few kilometers left before this reserve is completely depleted. It serves as a signal for the driver to fill the tank as soon as possible. Some models use sounds after the light has been on for a certain time.

2. Another sign that the car has run out of gas is that it does not start . This is because, during starting, the engine needs a good flow of fuel, if this injection flow is not guaranteed, it is impossible for it to start running. At this point it is useless to continue trying without replenishing the gasoline levels in the tank, useless and also dangerous because the gasoline pump would be working without meaning, a situation that would lead it to overheat and suffer a breakdown . If the fuel pump is damaged, then the car will not be able to start even if the fuel is refilled.

3. Although it is obvious, when the car is out of gas, it will suddenly be stranded while driving . On many occasions, it can turn back on, but it will fail again and reach a point where it will be impossible to move it without help.

Some experts recommend constantly checking the fuel level gauge , especially when the gas tank is completely topped up. If the needle does not mark correctly, it is very likely that this system has been damaged. If so, it will very much need to be repaired as soon as possible to avoid confusing readings in the future.
