Gang member arrested in California for homicide of promising basketball boy in park in Queens, New York

Sean Brown, alleged gang member of 18, was Arrested in California in connection with the stray bullet that killed the boy Aamir Griffin, in a park in Queens (NYC).

Griffin, of 14 years, died after receiving a shot in the neck while practicing basketball only at Baisley Park Houses, on Foch Boulevard, Jamaica neighborhood, the 26 October 2019. His family commented that his skill on the court had caught the attention of college scouts.

Brown, a Queens resident, was arrested Monday in Los Angeles and charged with Griffin’s murder, awaiting extradition to New York.

Griffin, who was a 1st year student at “Benjamin N. Cardozo” High School, was shooting balls when was hit by a bullet fired from more than 100 yards (91 meters) away. Police offered a reward of $ 10, 000 dollars to capture the killer, but the case was not solved for almost two years.

Shanequa Griffin (39), the victim’s mother, celebrated Brown’s arrest , saying that the alleged gang member “broke my heart “And it should” get get what you deserve ”. Detectives notified him earlier this week of the arrest.

“I’m excited about that. I’m glad they caught him, ”the mother repeated to the New York Post . “Most murders are not solved.” Brown “It took a lot from me. It broke my heart … I just want him to know that he will get what he deserves ”, because he has not stopped crying regularly for the loss of his son.
