The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador , announced that in September there is the possibility of meeting with his US counterpart, Joe Biden.
“There is that possibility, we formulated an invitation for him to visit Mexico and have a meeting,” he said.
In his morning conference from the National Palace, the Mexican president was questioned about the possible date of the meeting with Joe Biden , the same that could occur in Mexico.
“It is being proposed for the end of September,” López Obrador responded to reporters.
The Mexican president also gave details about the meeting he held yesterday afternoon at the National Palace with US officials led by Jake Sullivan, head of the Council National Security.
“ We were talking with Mr. Sullivan for more than two hours, it was a broad conversation and we reached agreements, there are coincidences and he is going to inform both the Vice President and President Biden about our approach, ”he said.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador reiterated that there is a good relationship with the Joe Biden government with whom a comprehensive joint plan is being sought to boost the economy of America North.
“The relationship with the United States government is very good, with President Biden, yesterday’s meeting was also very profitable, very good for both countries, yesterday’s call with Vice President Kamala Harris the same. They are seeking to have a comprehensive joint plan that includes the economic growth of North America, I have made an approach in that sense of how to strengthen North America and all America in the face of the commercial economic growth of Asia ”, he pointed out. Vice President Kamala Harris is the total reopening of the border.
“There are good relations, the call is being made to open the border , they are in that tenor, they agree, however this came the increase in infections, the new Delta variant, and it is being analyzed but there is attention for that the economic-commercial relationship on the border is normalized as soon as possible, “he said.
