Suspect of killing a woman and wounding a man in a shooting inside a movie theater was arrested by the police

A suspect of murdering a woman of 18 years and injuring a man of 19 years during a shooting at a movie theater in the town of Corona, in Riverside County, was arrested by police on Wednesday night .

Joseph Jiménez , from 20 years, he was booked by the authorities c on charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery , is in the Riverside Presley Detention Center and posted a $ 2 bond, 000, 000, reported the police in a statement .

The deceased woman was identified as Rylee Goodrich, of 18 years; while the wounded man was identified as Anthony Barajas, of 19 years , both originally from Corona and who were together inside the cinema at the time of the attack.

With the statements of witnesses to the shooting that occurred last Monday night at a movie theater in The Crossings shopping center, detectives from the Corona Police Department came with a search warrant at Jiménez’s home, on the block 19000 from Evoy, in El Cerrito .

The shooting occurred just before midnight in the movie theater during a screening of “The Forever Purge.”

At a press conference, Officer Tobias Kouroubacalis reported that, upon arriving at the scene From the shooting, the police found two gunshot wounds inside the room.

“I have been told that six tickets were bought for that function,” said the officer.

Kouroubacalis mentioned that Jiménez had possession of a ticket for said function , but did not clarify whether he acquired it or was obtained in another way.

So far, there is no indication that Jiménez knew the victims or if you had previous contact with them.

Goodrich was student at Corona High, practiced volleyball and track and field and was also a cheerleader . Received a scholarship to Grand Canyon University in its STEM program.

Barajas stood out as player of soccer at Mater Dei High, and had a large following on his social media , with more than 28, 000 Instagram followers and more than 920, 000 on TikTok.
