Nine gang members of the Mara Salvatrucha (La MS – 13) have been charged with multiple crimes including seven murders, kidnappings, assaults, robberies and large-scale drug distribution, in Nashville, Tennessee.
All suspects involved in The allegations are currently behind bars.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) reported in a statement that the victims of these gang members include innocent people.

A federal grand jury in Nashville, Tennessee, indicted the nine members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS – 13) of 60 charges for crimes committed for more than seven years, including murders.
The prosecution holds a branch of the MS responsible – 10 operating in Nashville, called Thompson Place Locos Salvatrucha, from committing a wide variety of crimes, including the murder of seven individuals , the attempt to murder of five others, distribution of drugs, robberies, kidnappings and assaults.
The penalties stipulated for crimes committed by gang members range from 10 years in prison to life imprisonment . A federal district court will determine the convictions that result from the criminal process, based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors, the DOJ indicated.
According to documents and statements made in court, MS – 13 is a national and transnational criminal organization composed mostly of partly by individuals of Salvadoran descent or from other Central American countries.
“The purpose of the MS – 13 includes preserving and protecting its power, territory, reputation and profits through the using intimidation and violence, including murder, and promoting your business through acts of murder, theft, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. Branches of the MS – 13 operate throughout the United States, ”the statement said.
According to the text, MS members – 10 often exercise violence against people based on the belief that the victims are members of rival gangs or potential witnesses to crimes committed by members of the organization.
Also add, the members of the MS – are subject to various rules, mainly the strict prohibition, under threat of death, to cooperate with the authorities; the obligation to fight or kill members of rival gangs whenever possible, and the duty to respond quickly and violently against anyone who threatens the authority, power, reputation or territorial control of the organization.
“Participation in such violent acts by a member increases respect for them, results in the member maintaining or raising their position within the band, and could result in their promotion to a leadership position, ”the DOJ noted.
