Miguel Ángel Treviño, the Z-40, of the Los Zetas Cartel, the narco after the Allende massacre has set foot in 8 prisons

Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, alias el Z – 40, leader of the Los Zetas Cartel (CDZ) , was transferred from the federal prison of the state of Michoacán to that of Chiapas with the argument that the insecurity and violence in the entity put his physical integrity and even his life at risk.

The Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported that the Second District Court of Federal Criminal Proceedings in the State of Mexico, based in Toluca, qualified as legal the transfer to the Federal Center for Social Readaptation (Cefereso) Number 15, in the Chiapas municipality of Villa Comaltitlán.

“There is an imminent risk that they could threaten his physical integrity and even his life by some antagonistic group, which would also cause a state of ungovernability in the prison, putting the entire inmate population at risk ”, resolved Mariana Peralta, secretary in charge of the court’s office.

The Prevention and Social Readaptation Commission submitted a letter to the court to justify the transfer.

In the text, it indicated that the Z – 40 has high organizational and planning capabilities , high skills of leadership that shows its economic capacity and criminal ties that “can come to bear situations that replicate the criminal actions carried out abroad by the person of merit.”

The Z – 40 was detained on 15 July 2013 in the municipality of Anáhuac , in the state of Nuevo León, and since then at least 10 trials for crimes committed in Mexico, as well as two extradition trials to the United States.

Whether due to overcrowding, inmate turnover or for his safety, the leader of Los Zetas has gone through eight different federal prisons.
