Died Johnny Ventura of a heart attack and the world of music is in mourning . At 81 years, the singer who raised the merengue over the years, passed away in a hospital in his beloved city of Santiago, in the Dominican Republic.

This was confirmed by one of his sons, Jandy Ventura, who also added that was working on what would be his next two musical releases with Jochy Sánchez, when he felt bad and they decided to transfer him to the nearest hospital where he died .

Johnny started in music in the years 60 ‘s, first he had a group called’ Los Venturas’ and then he traveled the whole world leaving the name of his country and of the meringue on top as ‘El Caballo Mayor’ .

Juan de Dios Ventura Soriano, was Johnny Ventura’s real name, he was born in Santo Domingo on March 8, 1940 and are innume rable his successes around these 60 years of music .

Last year he had to battle COVID – 19 , and although he was hospitalized, he was able to get ahead , that’s why we clarify that the virus had nothing to do with his death .

The joy and especially the mischief of his lyrics made him win hearts all over the world. However, his belonged to a single woman: Josefina ‘Fifa’ Flores, with whom he was married 51 years.

“Fifa and I arrived today at our first 50 years of marriage, and I thank the Lord for having put her at the helm of the boat of my life and steering it with skill, both in calm and turbulent water ; guiding the ship to a safe harbor with overflowing affection and understanding ”, Ventura said last year when in the middle of the quarantine they celebrated their golden anniversary .
