The Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector (RGV ) began tracking large groups in 2007 and the Last night’s encounter is by far one of the largest to date. This group consisted of migrants from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Venezuela.

CBP agents continue to find a significant number of undocumented immigrants who cross the border and ensure that they work ajan to secure the border and to quickly remove people from USBP’s custody, through the proper immigration route.

“From the river to the ranches, our agents are doing everything possible to locate and rescue people who are lost or grieving, and we are witnessing first-hand that migrants are going through the worst as their journey to the border is relentless, ”said Chief Patrol Agent Brian Hastings.

To date, RGV has accounted for more than 700 bailouts this fiscal year.

Immigrant arrests by Border Patrol agents surpassed 1 million people in June . Over the past week, more than 20, 000 immigrants were detained in CBP’s Rio Grande Sector, Hastings said it’s a statement.

“We are in the hottest part of the summer, and we are seeing a large number of distress calls to CBP from migrants abandoned on treacherous terrain by smugglers with no regard for human life, ”said Acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller at a statement. “Although CBP goes to great lengths to locate and rescue people who are lost or grieving, the bottom line is this: the terrain along the border is extreme, the summer heat is severe, and the miles of migrants must walking in the desert after crossing the border in many areas is relentless ”.

In June 2007, CBP found 188, 829 persons attempting to enter along the southwestern border of the United States. This total represented a 5% increase over May of 2021.
