Among the many controversial figures who have passed through the life of Britney Spears , or who continue to be part of it today, Sam Lutfi ranks high. Her former manager found a niche in her team during the time when the pop princess was immersed in a complicated divorce process with the father of her two children, Kevin Federline , and little by little it became his apparent right hand.

The level of power he accumulated ended up worrying the singer’s parents, who accused him of having moved in with their famous daughter to control all aspects of her life and finances, also assuring that he was drugging her, that he disposed of pills in his food and that he had cut the cables of the telephone of her house so Britney couldn’t talk to her family. Sam’s dismissal coincided with the beginning of the guardianship to which she has been subjected for a decade.

Now he has been the last to pronounce on the battle legal that his former client has started to put an end to that controversial measure that was taken during his supposed mental and emotional crisis, and for which his former manager feels partly responsible. “I’m sitting here listening to the recording of her testimony in court, and if she hates me after being free, I won’t blame her” , said Sam on Twitter . “I failed him. I was supposed to protect her from all this, but I let her down and we both paid dearly for it. So sorry”.

Sam just hopes that the decision he’s made a judge this Wednesday to allow Britney to choose her lawyer – something she had not been able to do until now – to help her untie her father Jamie Spears of her career and personal fortune, something that the artist has been trying to achieve for a long time.

“This is a premature celebratory post, but for now there’s a new sheriff in town and heads are about to roll. The war may be about to end, but recovery will be a tremendous journey that has not yet begun. May God bless the entire army. I love you all ”, he added, addressing those who have supported the #FreeBritney movement. Britney’s legal team has obtained two restraining orders against Sam in the past: a temporary one at 2008 and another one in 2019, when the validity expired from the first.
