Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Brazil at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro allowed the Albiceleste to break with a drought of 28 years without titles .

Gabriel Batistuta, Juan Román Riquelme, Pablo Aimar, Hernan Crespo and Javier Mascherano were some of the figures who failed to get titles for the National Team Argentina. Along the way, they passed six finals, five from the Copa América and one from the World Cup, all lost until this Saturday, when in the seventh final, the Albiceleste won the Copa América with Lionel Messi and company.

In the South American broadcast of Directv, the Argentine narrator, Pablo Giralt, could not contain his tears in the absence of 30 seconds to finish the game.

“30 seconds to get us the mufa of 28 years. It’s going to end, ladies and gentlemen. Angelito (Di María) you had your rematch. (…) Gentlemen, it’s over . It’s over, Leo. Was over. Let’s go Argentina. Thank you for this unforgettable moment. We are champions of America. For us, it is not just another game. ”
