After three weeks of being hospitalized, Fernanda Olivares, known as “Polly”, died this Saturday at the Xoco Hospital, located in Mexico City, sources close to the case.
She and her friend Fernanda Cuadra were run over by Diego Armando Helguera in the Viaducto Piedad neighborhood, in the Iztacalco mayor’s office.

Polly was dragged two blocks by the motorist, causing her serious injuries.
Her friend Fernanda Cuadra was discharged after two weeks from the Balbuena Hospital.
Meanwhile, Diego Armando Helguera , a young man who ran over Fernanda Cuadra and Fernanda “ Polly ” Olivares , his girlfriend and her friend , in the Iztacalco mayor’s office, is linked to a process for attempted aggravated femicide after he surrendered in the facilities of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City last 18 June.
Accompanied by his lawyer and his relatives, the young man entered around 18: 30 hours (local time). His lawyer, Luis Octavio Espinoza, emphasized that his client made that decision to submit to justice and assured that appearing voluntarily before the authorities does not have any legal advantage.
The 12 June, Diego ran over the two young women, causing serious injuries that kept them in hospital. He managed to flee after running over the victims.
They assure that Diego Armando Helguer a, beyond having been drunk, is aware of what he already did that before closing his Facebook profile he published the phrase: “The devil protects me.”
Later in a phone call he said that he would rather be dead than turn himself in to the police because he was already hated by society.
