Hitmen of the Cartel de La Familia Michoacana (LFM) ambushed elements of the Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico (SSEM) and of the State Attorney’s Office (FGJEM) in the municipality of Otzoloapan , in the southern region of the state, without any injuries being reported.
The events took place on a highway in the Cruz Blanca community, where the convoy of state and ministerial police officers was attacked with bullets by individuals who were apparently hiding among the trees so the agents repelled the attack and were able to escape unscathed.

According to a video broadcast on social networks, the confrontation took place at two different points.
In the first part of the recording, an exchange of shots is heard. At the end of the shooting, the agents confirm that all are well and continue their journey in the official vehicles.
However, later they meet with a truck crossed in the middle of the road and another exchange of shots is recorded.
Two audios were also broadcast on social networks in which hears policemen asking for support.
Constant attacks by La Familia Michoacana

The attacked convoy was heading towards the Puente de los Sabinos area, where a checkpoint would be installed.
At the time of the attack, which was attributed to a cell of the Michoacan Family, the agents were traveling along the Ixtapan de la Sal – Llano Grande highway , at the height of Puerta del Carmen.
