Los Angeles County asks to return to the mask in closed places due to the risk of the Delta variant of the coronavirus

Los Angeles health authorities say that even people fully vaccinated against COVID – 19 should wear a mask in places such as stores, supermarkets and cinemas

Los Angeles County Health Authorities County of Los Angeles are asking the public to reuse the face mask in closed places (indoors) even if people have already been vaccinated against COVID – .

The recommendation comes less than two weeks after California lifted most of the distancing restrictions physical in business such as use of a mask in workplaces and responds to the danger of the Delta variable of the coronavirus, which is estimated to be twice as contagious .

According to health authorities, it is preferable to wear mask in places like supermarkets, stores, cinemas and cent rivers of family entertainment, and also places of work if the vaccination status of all colleagues is not known .

Something that has been seen a lot at least in the Los Angeles area is that many people have not stopped using the mask in stores and supermarkets.

“Until we better understand how and to whom the Delta variant is transmitted, everyone should focus on maximum protection with the least disruption to routine while all businesses operate without other restrictions, ”said the Los Angeles County Health Department in a statement .

The statement added that fully vaccinated people appear to be well protected from infections such as Delta variants, however people with only one Pfizer or Moderna vaccine doses are not .

“The lowest number of COVID infections – identified in people who are fully vaccinated have only been mild diseases, ”the statement reads.

To date, they have been identified in the most populous county in Country 1, 249, 560 positive cases of COVID – Y 24, 480 deaths. Currently there 238 hospitalized people and the positive test rate is 0.9% today.
