There is no denying that Turkish soap operas are having a great moment among the Hispanic audience in the United States. Univision has presented titles such as “Amor Eterno” and “ La Hija del Embajador ” that the public. Telemundo had experimented with great results in the past with “Todo Por Mi Hija” and now “ Hercai: Amor y Venganza ”has become the new rating boom.
The Turkish soap opera starring Ebru Şahin and Akin Akinözü has been crowned as the most watched in less than a week of transmission. An audience increase had already been seen on Thursday 24 June but it was Friday 25 of June that was able to dominate the Latino primetime audience.
On its fourth day of airing, “Hercai” achieved 1.3 million total audience, equaling its direct competition from Univision, “Si Nos Dejan”. However, the abysmal difference was in the adult segment between 18 and 49 years old, which is the most important number for advertisers. In this demo, the Turkish series conquered 530 thousand, easily winning overnight. The Mexican telenovela could only achieve 397 thousand at the same time.
The closest Univision came to matching the Telemundo demo of the At 9 pm/8c it was with “La Rosa de Guadalupe” which at 7 pm/6c marked 518 a thousand.
Although Telemundo can breathe more comfortably in one of its schedules, “Café Con Aroma de Mujer” cannot retain the audience that “Hercai” leaves it. The soap opera starring William Levy gives a drastic drop in its average of 10 pm / 9c dialing 861 thousand in total and 385 thousand in the demo.
