Captain Andrés Guardado is out of the Gold Cup and will not abandon El Tri

However, Marca Claro reported that Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino wants to keep him in the Mexican concentration. Let him do the rehabilitation with the national team and serve as a guide and advisor for the group that will fight to lift the Gold Cup.

Guarded will be out against Curaçao, El Salvador and another rival to be defined in Group A. If he would be available for the knockout round, it remains to be seen if Martino will keep him on the list despite not being able to play in the initial phase of the competition.

Mexico will debut on 10 July against that rival to be confirmed, then will play against Curaçao on 14 and will close against El Salvador on 18 of the same month. They want to wash the image left after losing the Nations League final against the United States.
