Man manages to swim back after being bitten by a great white shark in northern California

A man was hospitalized in serious condition Saturday morning after having been bitten by a great white shark on a beach in San Mateo County, in the San Francisco Bay Area .

The Cove at 9: 15 am at the time he was bitten from the right leg. The shark was 6 to 8 feet tall .

San Mateo County authorities said the man was able to swim back to shore, where paramedics arrived to provide “advanced survival” aid before transporting to a hospital.

INCIDENT UPDATE: Upon arrival at Gray Whale Cove firefighters / paramedics found a male on the beach with a confirmed bite to his body. Patient was treated with advanced life support measures and transported to a local trauma center in serious condition. pic.twitter.com/z3dcy9gTR6

The beach was closed after the incident and the latest medical report indicated that the man was stable.
