After days of rumors about the participation of goalkeeper Keylor Navas with the Costa Rican National Team in the Gold Cup 2021 , it was confirmed that the new technical director, Luis Fernando Suárez, excluded him from the preliminary list of summoned for the regional contest.
According to official information, the absence of Navas along with other members of the Tico team, is due to injuries suffered by the players: “Footballers like Keylor Navas, Óscar Duarte, Cristian Gamboa, Luis Díaz and Juan Pablo Vargas were reported by their respective teams as injured , for this reason they will not be taken into account for the Gold Cup. ”
Of the 27 chosen by the Colombian Suárez , the list will be reduced to 23 players next week, July 1.
