The earthquake was felt in Inglewood, Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Culver City, Westwood and even in some parts of the San Fernando Valley.

The earthquake occurred at 5: 08 pm and was located very close to El Segundo, with a depth of 11 km .

A 3.6 earthquake had earlier struck the Desert Hot Springs area of ​​San Bernardino County, where earthquakes are much more common. .

No damage has been reported from either of the two earthquakes so far.
