A earthquake of magnitude 3.4 shook the area of El Segundo , where the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is located, causing surprise and concern among residents.
The earthquake was felt in Inglewood, Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Culver City, Westwood and even in some parts of the San Fernando Valley.

A magnitude 3.4 quake has been felt throughout the Los Angeles area. The epicenter was detected on the airport’s far northeast runway.

The earthquake occurred at 5: 08 pm and was located very close to El Segundo, with a depth of 11 km .
A 3.6 earthquake had earlier struck the Desert Hot Springs area of San Bernardino County, where earthquakes are much more common. .
No damage has been reported from either of the two earthquakes so far.
