AMLO describes the interview that León Krauze conducted with journalist Jorge Ramos as tendentious and lacking in objectivity

During his morning conference, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador described the interview as “tendentious, with a lack of objectivity and professionalism” that León Krauze did to the journalist Jorge Ramos .

“How a journalist cannot do an interview in that way, tendentious, with a lack of objectivity, with a lack of professionalism, seeking to have the answers he wants, lacking respecting the interviewee, seeking to manipulate him or consider him a fool, a wimp “, said López Obrador.

” For those who study social communication, let them see it, I don’t I have done it but I imagine it, and it seems that Jorge even with the differences that we have, what he told him was not Venezuela Mexico, there is no dictatorship , yes there is democracy in Mexico “, he said.

” Why does León Krauze do that? Not only for lack of professionalism but for courage “, s e questioned the president from the National Palace.

The Mexican president assured that with this type of interview objectivity is lost and that the one conducted by León Krauze is due to “Political differences” with his father, the Mexican historian Enrique Krauze.

“They lose objectivity, they become obfuscated. So I understand his feelings like every son defends a father but those political differences that we have because they cannot cut us off and the differences we have with Enrique Krauze (León Krauze’s father) is because he has been a defender of the neoliberal model that produced the crisis in Mexico and he has supported electoral fraud and he has kept silent about the corruption that prevailed throughout the neoliberal period and now as he is no longer the political guide because we cannot having as an advisor someone who defends an individualistic, corrupt model, then Krauze and Aguilar Camín are very upset, who are the two heads of the intellectual group, “he said.

Minutes after qualify the interview as “tendentious”, the Mexican president asked Jesús Ramírez, Spokesperson for Social Communication of the Presidency, to project the fragment of the interview where Jorge Ramos points out that Mexico is not a dictatorship or Venezuela.

¿ Do you notice in Mexico today Jorge, the same risks for democracy that you have seen elsewhere? “, Leon Krauze asked Jorge Ramos in the fragment projected from the National Palace, to which the journalist replied “No, no, let me be absolutely clear on this, López Obrador is not Nicolás Maduro and he is not Hugo Chávez. Mexico is not Venezuela, I believe that López Obrador should continue in power until the last day, because that is democracy. If I ask you León, give me the name of the leader of the opposition in Mexico? You and I are going to have problems finding him, ”said Jorge Ramos.

León Krauze He insisted to Jorge Ramos with another question: “In the style of your mature question, what do we call López Obrador today, is he a López Obrador democrat, is he a López Obrador democrat?”, to which Jorge Ramos replied: “He is the legitimate president of Mexico” .

“Well I think there is no doubt about that, it was in his moment Hugo Chávez and Donald Trump Is López Obrador a democrat Jorge? ”, Leon Krauze insisted, to which Jorge Ramos once again replied:“ I think so far yes, I have no doubt about that he was democratically elected and that he is ruling within the parameters of Mexican democracy. Mexican democracy is still very young and with many problems and not fully consolidated or established, “said Ramos.

At the end of p roject the fragment of the interview, laughing, Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that “so he wanted me to tell him that I was a dictator” .

León Krauze responds to Andrés Manuel López Obrador

Through his Twitter account the journalist León Krauze, son of Mexican historian Enrique Krauze, described it as “a shame” that Andrés Manuel López Obrador disqualifies his journalistic work at the time of sharing a fragment of an interview he conducted with the Mexican president where corruption was discussed during the administration of Enrique Peña Nieto.

“Three years ago, this is what @lopezobrador_ thought about my journalistic work. When journalism examined the abuses and stumbles of its adversaries, it was worthy of recognition. Now that you examine him, he is worthy of disqualification from power. A shame, ”wrote Leon Krauze.
