20 places in Los Angeles that offer free breakfast and lunch for kids and teens


The program will last all summer, from this 14 from June until next August 6. Meals can be obtained Monday through Friday from 06 pm to 1 pm

Los Angeles County Children and Adolescents up to 18 years will be able from this Monday and throughout the summer to ensure the breakfast and lunch thanks to the return of the annual program Lunch at the LA County Library (Lunches at the Los Angeles County Library)

The aforementioned program offers during five days a week these two meals a day , which can be reheated.

“This will be the seventh year in a row that we have offered free meals through this program,” said the director of the library. Los Angeles County, Skye Patrick. “We know that families depend on lunch and snack programs to provide nutritious and free meals to their children when they are not in school ”, he added.

No income restrictions so that minors can get their meals. In addition, it is not necessary for them to go to the locations to order their dishes. Parents and caregivers can do it on their behalf.

The collection of meals will take place from this Monday 14 from June until next August 6 , although on July 5 the locations will remain closed. The hours to go to the places mentioned below are from Monday to Friday, from 12 from noon to 1 in the afternoon

The initiative Lunch at the Library arises from the partnership between the Los Angeles County Library and the county’s regional food bank. And it’s supported by the California Summer Food Coalition and the State Library Association.

This is the list of libraries where you can get meals from Monday to Friday at the times indicated above:

– AC Bilbrew Library

– Gardena Mayme Dear Library

– La Puente Library

– Lake Los Angeles Library

– Lancaster Library

– Live Oak Library

– Montebello Library

– Norwalk Library

– Quartz Hill Library

– Library Rowland Heights

– San Fernando Library

– San Gabriel Library

– South Whittier Library

In the following seven libraries can only be made from Tuesday to Friday , also from 12 from noon to 1 in the afternoon:

– Baldwin Library Park
– Clifton M. Brakensiek Library

– Compton Library

– El Monte Library

– Leland R. Weaver Library

– Woodcrest Library
