WASHINGTON – Jessica Oseguera González, daughter of the drug trafficker most wanted by United States and Mexico, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho” , was sentenced This Friday in Washington to two and a half years in prison.

The Department of Justice reported the sentence against Oseguera González, also known as La Negra and that she was arrested last February in the US capital, in a statement .

The daughter of “El Mencho” will pass 30 months in prison, that is, two and a half years, for “deliberately participating in financial deals ”With six Mexican companies sanctioned by the US for providing material support to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), led by his father.

Oseguera González, from 34 years, she pleaded guilty in March to the charges she faced, and was convicted this Friday in a federal court in Washington to the maximum penalty he faced, 30 months in jail.

Mencho’s daughter was arrested in February, when she went to a court in the US capital to see her brother Rubén Oseguera González, known as El Menchito, after he was extradited the previous week from Mexico.

According to court documents, the defendant owned two of the sanctioned companies, J&P Advertising SA and JJGON, as well as director or agent of four other Mexican companies designated by Washington: Las Flores Cabanas, Mizu Sushi Lounge, Tequila Onze Black and Operadora Los Famosos SA

According to the Department of Justice,

the detainee -which has a double n Mexican and US nationality- continued to be the owner, agent or director of these companies after the sanctions imposed by the United States government.

Since 2018, the CJNG is on the list of US transnational criminal organizations, specifically within the five priorities of the US government.

“This ruling shows that violating the sanctions of the Department of the Treasury on companies and individuals linked to foreign drug cartels is something that does not go unpunished, “Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division of the US Department of Justice, Nicholas McQuaid, said in a statement.
