Four girls, two of them in wheelchairs, were run over in fatal incident in San Bernardino County

The authorities of San Bernardino County , in Southern California, identified the three girls who lost their lives after being hit by a truck while walking on the edge of a country road on Saturday night. The driver of the vehicle and a passenger fled on foot in a case of “hit and run” .

The California Highway Patrol said that four minors, two of them in wheelchairs , were hit from behind at 10: 19 pm over Camp Rock Road, in the community of Lucerne Valley for a Chevrolet Silverado pickup model 2002 White color. The road has no sidewalks or curbs.

The girls who died at the scene are Willow Sánchez, from 11 years; Daytona Bronas, from 12, and Sandra Mizer, from 13. All three were Lucerne Valley residents.

The other girl run over, identified by some media as Natalie Coe, from 14 years, she was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries.

So far it has not been reported if the alcohol, drugs or excess speed were factors in the incident.
