In a night with few frights, Guillermo Ochoa stayed with the headlines after saving the penalty that qualified Mexico to the final of the Concacaf Nations League, in which he will face the United States .
El Tri beat Costa Rica (0- 0, 5-4 on penalties) after a very close penalty shootout in which no goalkeeper had a leading role until “Memo” stopped the sixth Costa Rican penalty from Allan Cruz to define the match .
Cruz, right-handed, decided to cross his shot. Ochoa made a perfect reading , launching just at the moment when the Costa Rican player shoots.
The shot failed was misplaced, nor was it lacking in power, but the range and timing of “Memo” fit perfectly.
For Mexico converted: Hirving Lozano, Orbelín Pineda, Alan Pulido, Luis Romo and Jesús Gallardo. Only Uriel Antuna failed, who made the first payment.
