According to Bryant, the sports shoe model would bear the name of “ Mambacita ”which is the nickname of his daughter who died with her father in a terrible accident. The colors she chose, the interior pattern, the number ‘2’ that appears, the names of ‘Kobe and Gigi’ on the back in gold letters, everything was carefully chosen as a tribute to the little girl.
“ ‘Mambacita’ shoes are NOT approved for sale. I wanted them to be sold to honor my daughter with all the profits for the benefit of our foundation, but I did not sign the Nike contract to sell these shoes “, she wrote very annoyed by the whole situation.
According to Vanessa “ Mambacita shoes were not approved to be manufactured in the first place, Nike has not shipped any of these pairs to me or to my girls ”, he explained in his publication before his 15 million followers. So far the company has not made any statement in this regard.
