The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It premieres on June 4 . Horror fans can’t wait to see the new installment of the saga that has scared millions and this time The Conjuring 3 will bring the true story of the Warren to the big screen. And if you want to know what is behind the fiction, we leave you the details.

The delivery is based on the famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who dedicated their lives to fighting the forces of evil. In this film the famous case of the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson , occurred in 1981 and that it represented the first time in United States history that an alleged Assassin used demonic possession as defense.

Johnson had 19 years old when charged of murdering Alan Bono, owner of the house where he and his girlfriend, Debbie Gratzel, lived. The case became media coverage due to the statements of the defense, who assured that his client could not be held responsible for the crime because had been possessed by the devil .

Debbie’s younger brother, David Gratzel, claimed that he had been possessed by demons and it was thanks to Ed and Loarraine Warren that the uninvited guests had been expelled from his body, jumping into Johnson’s.

The judge in the case refused to hear the arguments of the defense and Johnson was sentenced to a sentence of 10 to 15 years in prison. Lorraine Warren wrote the book The Devil in Connecticut on 1983 which made the story even more interesting.

The book became a bestseller however when it was reprinted in the 2006 David Gratzel and his brother Carls sued the Warrens for defamation, claiming that the publication had destroyed their lives.

For their part, the Warren family defended themselves by ensuring that there was a Catholic investigation behind and tons of documentation that they tasted demon possession.

Now once again the case is taken up but this time to reach the big screen. The film features Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as the Warrens and will be seen through HBO Max .
