The homophobic scream from the Mexican fans was present, one more time . The Stadium Empower Field of Denver, was the scene where the spectators again began to develop this type of aggression. However, the problem is already affecting sports development . The match between Mexico and Costa Rica stopped once, as required by the new protocol of the federation .

The efforts of the Concacaf and the Mexican Football Federation seem not to be enough to stop these verbal attacks. Despite multiple warnings and possible calls to suspend the meetings, this insult continues to make an appearance in the matches of “El Tri” .

The fans who expressed this cry, did not listen to the countless calls for attention from the stadium voice , under the campaign “ it’s wrong, it’s wrong “. As a consequence of not heeding the organizers’ warning, the main referee decided to stop the commitment in the extra time of the second half , as indicated by the new protocol.

New parameters in search of eradicating the homophobic cry

The Concacaf began to apply a new method for this League of Nations . The procedure consists, in the first instance, in a preventive call to the fans in case derogatory acts are developed. Now, if the aggressions persist, the referee has all the power to suspend the match.

After the engagement is suspended, the Disciplinary Commission and the federation would determine the sanction and consequently the game would take place the next day without the presence of fans .

Mexico under the microscope

Currently, the Mexican Football Federation has a couple of pending accounts with FIFA . The reason lies in these same types of incidents that occurred during the Concacaf Pre-Olympic . So far the sanctions are not known by the regulatory entity.

Undoubtedly, this situation is gaining much more ground . In the first acts, the sanctions were directed at the federations and even at the fans themselves by denying them attendance at the stadiums. However, these verbal aggressions are already affecting the development of the encounters . Clearly this does not add to the sporting aspirations of “El Tri” and of an entire nation.
