Images: Plane makes an emergency landing in the middle of the 101 freeway in Los Angeles County
A small plane made an emergency landing on the highway 101 at the height of Westlake Village Monday night. The incident caused heavy traffic jams at a time when many people were returning home after the weekend of Memorial Day .

No person turned out injured when the single-engine Cessna aircraft made its landing on the southbound lanes near Lindero Canyon Road shortly before 7 p.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Department (LAFD) Supervisor Michael Pittman.
Brian Carson, the pilot of 32 years ago, he had communicated minutes earlier to the Van Nuys airport that he might need to make such an emergency landing in the Calabasas area, but reasons n or were immediately made public , as stated by Weston Haver, California Highway Patrol officer (CHP).

Haver added that the landing implied the closure of the highway. For his part, Craig Martin of CHP said that when the agency had information that the pilot was going down fast and low, “we got the agents to slow down the traffic.”
The road closure took place at the Reyes Adobe exit ramp, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities finally managed to push the plane off the highway at Reyes Adobe Road.
CHP said the Federal Aviation Administration will carry out an investigation to clarify the facts.
